Terrible weather forecast tomorrow for Lancy v Essex.

Spend all July and August playing in pyjamas and you get this.

Doesn't the Championship continue til virtually October?
Seems crazy scheduling in four county games in September...

September generally has pretty good weather - certainly preferable to the middle of winter which is when the season inevitably starts. Also during the T20 season the weather was pretty ropey this year. There's no dry seasons and monsoon in the UK, so it's pretty much pot luck with the weather.

As the only unbeaten team and with 3 more wins than their nearest rivals, Essex will be worthy champions regardless of what the weather does in the next 3 weeks.

Lancashire 115-6. Pitch doesn't sound too bad. Lancashire need a few more Hameed's, players that don't sell their wicket cheaply.

Weather likely to be the winner, but already extended our lead in the table by a couple of extra points. :)

Hope Essex win the title, we need more non-International counties winning these trophies. Will Cook and Westley be back after the Test this week?

Think the next round of games starts the day after the test ends - sure they will want to play, but it's whether the England management will allow them.

Although Essex have exceeded my expectations by continuing to thrive without those two players who dominated from the batting point of view in the first half of the season.

222/8, could be a decent score if conditions stay the same. Hamid 85 not out in nearly 5 and a half hours, the full Geoffrey. Might just have got him on the plane to Australia.

Excellent result for Worcestershire today at previously unbeaten Notts in Division 2 .

Top performance once again from Daryl Mitchell , scoring his sixth century of the season . Having lost the captaincy from last year , he's reacted in the best way possible .

Hopefully promotion beckons :partyman:

Should've played more for England, imho. Deserves his own moment in the sun, even on Anderson's big day.

The Bears lost 7 of the 8 wickets taken by LBWs.
