The only thing worse than his brain is his dress sense. Looked like a N-Sync reject today.

Sturridge the dim twit.
Sturridge ain't that clever
I welcome the addition of Sturridge. We just don't have enough ex-Liverpool players in the media.

Glad that the disputed ruling on whether goalies can poleaxe attacking players has been cleared up.
Absolutely staggering decision.

Win when you play badly - tick.

Wolves should be safe this season although that was a performance for the cameras. They'll need to get points against Midland rivals Forest and Villa.

Ah but it's superseded by the rule that away teams can't be awarded penalties at Old Teafford. Wonder if it would have been given at the other end though?

If the ref missed it then that’s what VAR is for. Hard to understand how they can decide it wasn’t a foul.

About as nailed on as you can get. Very strange decision. Late challenge, ball has gone.

Not a problem. When I was a daring custodian in the Lancashire Amateur League [Div3] if the ball came near th goal it was mine. If anyone got in the way it was their hard luck - even my own team.
I never got penalised. Far too soft these days.

Talk us the through the Peter McParland/Ray Woods and Nat Lofthouse/Harry Gregg clashes. 😀

McParland should have walked. He would these days. Nat Lofthouse - charge in the back. When he was retired he admitted that he'd fouled Gregg and should have been penalised. When I was a low level ref - both fouls.

I never quite understood that a GK could often charge out with both fists miss the ball and assault a player and get away with it as the above case demonstrates.

The GK equivalent of a two footed tackle imo, if you apply the same rules as a foot tackle it's reckless.

The argument will be from those who didn't think it was a pen will be, he was committed and was going for the ball. However, with today's law which removed intent several seasons ago, it's a late challenge pure and simple.
