Everton and Arsenal

Post by Petingo »

Ever since Farhad Moshiri bought Everton in March last year, rumours have persisted that his great friend and the man he sold his own Arsenal shares to, Mr. Alisommat Usmanov, would himself become involved at Everton.

Usmanov currently owns 30% of Arsenal and has long been frustrated that Stan Kronke, whom owns most of the club, will not allow him to have greater influence at Highbury.

Tonight it has been announced that Mr. Usmanov's company, USM, is to pour £75 million into Everton by buying the "naming rights" to our Finch Farm training ground.

This has fuelled speculation throughout Evertonia that Mr. Usmanov is considering selling his Arsenal stake and joining Mr. Moshiri at Goodison.

Plans are already well advanced for our brand spanking new stadium to be built on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey and it seems like that stadium will itself be subject to a huge "naming rights" deal.

Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov strikes £75m deal to sponsor Everton's training ground

If all the Gooner fans moan, groan, cry and have hissy fits as much as Rupe, who could blame him?

What happened to the Blues Bruvvers then?

Fickle Evertonian slut leading wide eyed that London innocents on then kicking them square in the nuts and shagging their neighbour?

For shame.

Yup.

Sorry Lash, but Ol' Pet will now be making amorous advances towards Rupe. Infact, I believe plans are already underway for Rupe to meet up with Ol' Pet & The Melling Road Ratepayer Boys next time he is golf batting in Portugal.

Mind you, Rupe could be in for a bit of a shock when he does meet them:

Then again, given Rupe's cubicle experiences, not much shocks him these days.

Just for the record, there us no fraternity between The Grand Old Team and Arsenal.

Just respect and the most cordial of cordial relationships between the two longest serving teams in the top flight of English football.

And ol' Pet is just relating what he thought was interesting news to emerge from the Everton AGM :)

Whenever I see his name, I always think 'thought he was dead'. Then I remember it's Berezovski that died and then I go back to Usmanov and think he's called Ustinov.

Usmanov was in the Wayfarer in Parbold with Dave Whelan just before christmas, apparently he is looking for a club with a recent history of winning major trophies.

That puts the 2013 FA Cup Winners in the frame and rules Everton out. :D

So it's £15m a year for training ground AND shirt sponsor.

If it were a shirt sponsorship deal only then itd still only be the 6th or 7th biggest deal in the league.

Still I'm sure mad Joe will get you your beloved stadium by the docks.

Why would he want greater influence at Highbury?
