Says the poster who gets angry and upset about the DM.
You mention it more times than Tick does Brexit.

Let's hope commonsense prevails for once.

It has nothing to do with common sense, it has every thing to do with the unions wanting to bring down the government and get Labour in, Labour, or course, would give the unions what they want, squeeze the pips till they squeak and, of course, appoint Gary Lineker as immigration advisor.
If the London Borough of Barnet isn't in London where is it?

I do, you're absolutely right.
But that's because I can see the influence it has on those who read it – you being a good example.

No idea. I was referring more to the way the DM loves to demonise all sorts of people, and their readership laps it up.birdie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:32 amSo what influence has the tits and bums page of the most read rag have on the intelligencia which read it?
They specialise in the politics of fear, scaremongering and whipping up hatred against various cultures, races and religions.

Wow, I didn't know your cared. That's made my day.
However, in the main, I don't think people are influenced by what they see and read in one section of the media, and those who say they do, are really bottling on the discussion, by attacking the source.
Over the course of time, people make up their own mind from life experiences and from a wide range of sources and research.

Tits and bums aren't allowed in tabloid papers.birdie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:32 amSo what influence has the tits and bums page of the most read rag have on the intelligencia which read it?
"No More Page 3 was a campaign that ran in the United Kingdom from 2012 to 2015, aimed at convincing the owners and editors of The Sun to cease publishing images of topless glamour models on Page 3, which it had done since 1970. Started by Lucy-Anne Holmes in August 2012, the campaign represented Page 3 as an outdated, sexist tradition that demeaned girls and women. The campaign collected over 240,000 signatures on an online petition and gained support from over 140 MPs, a number of trade unions, over 30 universities, and many charities and advocacy groups.
The Sun ceased publishing topless Page 3 images in its Republic of Ireland edition in 2013, in its UK editions in 2015, and on its Page3.com website in 2017. The Daily Star also ceased publishing images of topless glamour models in 2019."

Some are, I said in the main. I see you've childishly edited that from the quote. To discount the source in it's entirety, and to abuse those who refer to it, is both narrow minded and prejudiced.

Oh I don’t think Labour need any help, just let Boris keep on talking. That’s more than enoughbirdie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:09 amIt has nothing to do with common sense, it has every thing to do with the unions wanting to bring down the government and get Labour in, Labour, or course, would give the unions what they want, squeeze the pips till they squeak and, of course, appoint Gary Lineker as immigration advisor.

They are making the point that this is how much their income has fallen. That's fair enough.birdie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:09 amIt has nothing to do with common sense, it has every thing to do with the unions wanting to bring down the government and get Labour in, Labour, or course, would give the unions what they want, squeeze the pips till they squeak and, of course, appoint Gary Lineker as immigration advisor.
They don't expect to get that.
As for wanting to bring down the government, utter nonsense. They are not some crowd of evil lefties. This government doesn't need help in destroying itself. In fact the doctors risk people feeling sorry for them.

My grandad and nan have always bought those papers. The DM and the Express were probably different fifty, sixty years ago.subsub wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 11:19 pmMore power to her for reading the DM and the Express and not being angry or upset, given their daily diet of bigotry.lambrini wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 11:16 pmJudgeTedd wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:00 pm There’s alot of people who seem to be very angry at all hours of the day, these days. It’s like they feel the nation owes them something or other. They probably see their mates (people they no longer talk to), leading a great life (via fake posts) on social media and feel aggrieved.
Heard a bloke on LBC having a right rant about the current issues of the day. Only thing was, this was at about 6.30am. I wonder what sort of state he was in by 11am?
I know what you mean, though.
I call my nan almost every day (she doesn’t have the Internet) and it's like going back in time. She's a dear old soul. She's rarely angry or upset, but I wish she wouldn't read so much of the Daily Mail and the Express: "They're all, what's that thing... woke. What is "woke"? Are you woke?"

The DM was a little less subtle in its support of Nazis back then:lambrini wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 5:58 pmMy grandad and nan have always bought those papers.
