There have been some good games, m4rk
Game 12 and the final game of the 2018 World Chess Championship. Will we get a result or go for tie breaks on Wednesday?
Jerry:
Danny King:
Best of 12, first to 6.5 wins:
Carlsen 6 - 6 Caruana.
A Sicilian Sveshnikov again and opposite castling led to chances for Carlsen attacking down the queenside. But missed moves and he offered a draw after 31. Danny has words about those attacking Carlsen for offering the draw.
Tie breaks on Wednesday and we will have a winner.

Why when the King is in danger of getting checkmated can it not self-identify as a Queen and get itself out of danger ?

Actually Holden has a very good point.
Next time I play all my pawns will self identify as queens as well.
I actually might fancy my chances of winning like that.

See Jock, where we disagree. As per, always thought a spoilt brat before seeing 'Magnus' and then liked him.
As World Champ, of course you get big headed and arrogant, but he has a hell of a lot of shit against him to deal with. Even some of the twats at the pressers ask idiotic questions non-chess related.
Tactically he has done what he can. Six Sicilian's v Caruana on white and Caruana hasn't broken him, through most of the game, Carlsen has had better opprtunites, but they are both great and only perfect play can win.
Most go on about taking a draw in game 12. But as per Danny King video, it was a tactical decision. Play was uneven and could have lost as Caruana had almost equalled if Carlsen went for the win.
As wee Ray Houghton says about football, "If you want entertainment, go to the cinema". Sport is about winning and yes winning by beauty is great, but winning is all that matters.
So, mon Carlsen tomorrow, a Caruana World Champion will not to more excitement in chess. All IMO.

Tie break day and it didn't last long. Magnus won 3-0 in the four game rapidplay. No Danny King yet, but here's Jerry with his always great analysis:
The err presentation ceremony. Embarrassing for all concerned, watch Anna with your hands over your eyes, Jock. Carlsen self-deprecating:
Despite the 12 draws there was sooe good action and exciting play and chances, but Magnus seemed always in control. Congratulations to the World Champion:

Anna - looking very cute and delightfully lovelysome.
Fucking hell, I had missed the presentation ceremnony. I mean holy fuck batman - that FIDE anthem! How many organisations have their own anthem eh? Reminds me of that scene from Borat.
And all those other anthems - mental!
That ceremnony was jaw-droppingly awful.
Yeah, MC deserved it. He made a good speech too. FC being very humble in defeat. Classy.
MC was brill at the tie breaks. Awesome.
I watched alot of the 12 matches. Enjoyed it. Enjoyed the C24 commentary alot. Grishy was the best thing about the whole thing IMO. And his kid screaming and vandalising the apartment in the background was just highly amusing.
Shame that FC lost cos he is crap at rapids but then again he should have spent some time getting better at it really cos he knew what might happen.
I think Chess960 has gotta be the way to go though cos computers seem to have nearly solved chess and it's coming down to who has the bestest compoota.
London Chess Classic next major event. That should be good.

Good points, Jock. One thing though now, Magnus is the world champion at classical, rapid and Fischer960.

I'm fine, ovech. Read you posts in other threads and hope all sorts itself out soon.
Good old Bill. You never seen him on 'Googlebox' under the picture of the tits?:
Always remember Bil from 'Play Chess' on BBC. Found this: https://www.face book.com/tvark.org/videos/school-holidays-always-meant-play-chess-with-bill-hartston-this-clip-is-from-chr/1924733397568351/ Copy the link and join face book as video not linking.
But remember the theme music as 'Dance of the Knights' from 'Romeo and Juliet':
As Prokofiev was a chess fan. Here are games v two of the greats, big fan of old Capablanca:
